Our Level 3 Apprenticeship course is suitable for those who have experience in the early years sector and want to become fully qualified members of staff, recognised by Ofsted. This course develops your knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the fundamental principles needed to support individuals in their early stages of development. The course is delivered by individuals who have worked and managed nurseries.

Course Summary:

The Level 3 Early years educator apprenticeship is a 18-month apprenticeship programme that equips learners with the knowledge and skills needed to make a positive difference in the lives of young children.

As part of our Level 3

We also cover other additional subjects such as Forest School, In the Moment Planning by Anna Ephgrave, and more, to suit the needs of nurseries and childcare providers.

EPA Process

A critical component of our Level 3 course is the End-Point Assessment (EPA).

This assessment occurs at the conclusion of your apprenticeship and serves as a comprehensive evaluation of your skills, knowledge, and behaviors. The EPA ensures that you are adequately prepared and qualified for a role in the early years’ sector.

The Early Years Educator Apprenticeship qualifies you to work with children
The program aims to develop your knowledge of early years, so that you can support children in their early stages of development and help them develop key skills for a successful future. The focus of the program is on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the fundamental principles of child development.
Weekly teaching sessions, online and in person.
These will be 1-2-1, small groups, face to face sessions or progress reviews
All applicants will be required to undertake an initial assessment as part of the recruitment process

Functional Skills

Apprentices need to have functional skills level 1 in English and maths and attempt level 2 before the final End Point Assessment to complete their apprenticeship. Scope uses a great online tool to help with English and maths learning, making it as easy as possible for apprentices. They also have a dedicated and friendly team of highly skilled specialist English and maths tutors who can provide additional support, if needed, alongside the support of the apprenticeship trainer.

Delivery Model

Our sector expert staff will support you throughout the apprenticeship. Our highly skilled and knowledgeable trainers have significant experience working in the industry and will be able to support you in your journey. We deliver the program throughout the year, providing you with the flexibility to start when it suits you.

Course Completion

Upon completion, learners will gain A Level 3 Early Years Educator Qualification. as well as a Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid Course or Emergency First Aid course.

Frequently Asked Questions

No prior experience or knowledge is required however we may advise for you to complete the level 2 first depending on your initial assessments. 

The typical duration for this course is 18 months and can be completed within 12 months.

Assessment includes a combination of your portfolio, knowledge test and a professional discussion. 

Apprentices are required to work a minimum of 30 hours a week. 

During your initial assessment with us, we will evaluate your circumstances to determine if you are eligible for any further financial support.

The pay for apprentices is at least the National Minimum Wage for apprentices, though some employers may choose to pay more.

You will need to complete functional skills level 2 English and maths before your epa if you do not have English and maths qualifications.
