Course Summary:

The Functional Skills English course will be delivered as part of your apprenticeship program. Your timetable will be incorporated and discussed with your workplace to ensure you are accessing all lessons. The course covers writing, reading, speaking, and listening, and is designed to improve performance, boost confidence, and support both personal and business growth. Learning methods include a bespoke learning plan, support from a dedicated trainer, and mock exam papers to practise and assess progress.

Yes, there will be a reading, writing and speaking & listening exam, which will be taken in person at our site.

A pass in Level 2 Functional Skills English is equivalent to an English GCSE grade A-C or 4-9.

You will need to have a Functional Skills English Level 1 certificate.

Yes, to work in early years, and to qualify as a level 3 practitioner you will need to have Level 2 English and maths.
